Nvidia has released updated firmware for GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards, addressing compatibility problems with certain motherboards. Users experienced black screens and unexpected system reboots.

Owners of the new GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards encountered unexpected compatibility issues. When installing these graphics accelerators in certain motherboards, users observed black screen appearances or random computer reboots during operation.
The source of the problem proved to be incompatibility between the new graphics cards and specific BIOS versions of motherboards. Nvidia responded quickly to the situation and released a corrected firmware version (vBIOS) for the problematic graphics card models.
Interestingly, the scale of the problem remains unclear. According to technical resources, no mass complaints from users have been received yet, which may indicate the relatively limited spread of this malfunction.
Nvidia emphasizes an important point: the vBIOS update should only be installed by users who have actually encountered the described problems. If your system functions stably and without failures, intervention in the graphics card firmware is not required.
Special attention should be paid to motherboards using outdated BIOS modes - Legacy and CSM instead of modern UEFI. In such cases, compatibility problems may manifest more frequently. Nvidia recommends contacting the motherboard manufacturer's support service directly for specialized assistance.
The vBIOS update procedure, although maximally simplified by developers, still carries certain risks. An unsuccessful firmware update, for example due to sudden power outage, can lead to graphics processor damage. Nvidia does not provide clear guarantees regarding responsibility for possible GPU damage in such situations.
