Alienware, a renowned manufacturer of premium gaming devices, has expanded its laptop lineup with two new models – Aurora 16 and Aurora 16X. These devices are positioned as more affordable alternatives to the brand's flagship models while maintaining high performance and Alienware's characteristic design.
Technical Specifications of Aurora 16
The base model Aurora 16 is equipped with a 14th generation Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card. The laptop features a 16-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920×1080) resolution and a 165 Hz refresh rate. The base configuration includes 16 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512 GB SSD storage.
Features of Aurora 16X
The enhanced Aurora 16X model offers a more powerful configuration with a 14th generation Intel Core i9 processor and RTX 4070 graphics card. The display in this model has a QHD (2560×1440) resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate. Standard equipment includes 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Both models support NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 technology and feature an improved Cryo-Tech cooling system.
Design and Features
The new laptops maintain Alienware's signature futuristic design but have a thinner profile compared to previous models. The Aurora 16 is just 19.9 mm thick and weighs 2.5 kg. The devices are equipped with RGB keyboard lighting with individual customization for each key and Alienware's signature AlienFX lighting on the chassis.
Cooling System and Battery Life
Both models are equipped with an updated cooling system featuring dual fans and heat pipes, ensuring efficient heat dissipation even during extended gaming sessions. The 90 Wh battery provides up to 6 hours of autonomy in regular use mode and about 2-3 hours under gaming load.
Connectivity Options
The new laptops offer a wide range of ports, including USB Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, multiple USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and a combo audio jack. Wireless connectivity is represented by Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 modules.
Prices and Availability
The starting price for Aurora 16 is $1,299 USD, while Aurora 16X starts from $1,699. Both models are already available for pre-order and will be on sale from late May 2025.
