Japanese company Sharp announced two new Aquos series smartphones: the powerful flagship R10 with a revolutionary 240Hz display and the budget-friendly Wish 5 model with military-grade protection.

Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp has expanded its Aquos smartphone lineup with two compelling new devices: the flagship Aquos R10 and the more affordable Aquos Wish 5. Both models showcase the company's signature technologies in display innovation and enhanced protection against external elements.
Sharp Aquos R10: Flagship with Record Screen Refresh Rate
The main highlight of the Sharp Aquos R10 is its 6.5-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and variable refresh rate ranging from 1 to 240Hz. The screen boasts an impressive peak brightness of 3000 cd/m² and supports Sharp's Virtual HDR technology, which enhances video content quality without native HDR support.
The device's performance is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor combined with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. For stable operation under load, a copper heat dissipation system is positioned beneath the vapor chamber and processor.
Cameras and AI Features
The smartphone is equipped with two main cameras featuring 50.3-megapixel sensors developed in collaboration with Leica. One camera has a 23mm wide-angle lens, while the other features a 13mm ultra-wide-angle lens. The front-facing camera also received a 50.3-megapixel sensor.
The device runs Android 15 and offers numerous AI functions, including keyword recording during phone calls and intelligent task scheduling. The cameras support night mode, zoom, AI noise reduction, and spectral color adjustment.
Protection and Battery Life
The Aquos R10 features a 5000mAh battery with 36W fast charging via USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1. Audio is delivered through stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support with LDAC codec.
The body is protected according to IPX5, IPX8, IP6X standards and meets the MIL-STD-810G military standard. Unlocking options include fingerprint scanner and face recognition. Support for nano SIM, eSIM, and NFC is included.
Sharp Aquos Wish 5: Reliability at an Affordable Price
The Aquos Wish 5 model targets users seeking a simple and reliable smartphone. The device features a 6.6-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and enhanced brightness.
Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Virtual memory expansion is supported. Android 15 includes an AI call assistant that blocks suspicious calls and converts voice messages to text.
The main camera offers 50.1-megapixel resolution with Sharp ProPix Lite processor, while the front camera provides 8 megapixels. AI optimization for food and document photography is supported.
Charging and Protection Features
The Wish 5 is equipped with a 5000mAh battery supporting up to 27W charging via USB Type-C 2.0. Sharp's intelligent charging system stops the process at 90% to extend battery lifespan.
The smartphone is protected according to IPX5, IPX8, IPX9, IP6X standards and the MIL-STD-810H military standard. Features include fingerprint scanner, face recognition, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Availability and Pricing
Both models will go on sale in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Indonesia. The Sharp Aquos Wish 5 will arrive in late June, while the Aquos R10 will launch in July. Official pricing has not yet been announced.
