In an era where modern high-end graphics cards are becoming increasingly massive, occupying three slots and reaching lengths over 300mm, Inno3D decided to take a revolutionary approach. At the Computex 2025 exhibition, the manufacturer introduced RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards from the iChill Frostbite Pro lineup, which astound with their compactness — just one slot thick.

Technological Innovations

Such incredible compactness became possible through the use of liquid cooling. The cards come with pre-installed water blocks, fundamentally changing the approach to cooling powerful graphics processors.

Interestingly, Inno3D already has Frostbite series models with water cooling, but they occupy two slots. The new cards received the "Pro" suffix in their name for good reason — they are primarily targeted at professional workstations and AI systems, rather than regular gamers.

Partnership and Technical Challenges

The water blocks for the new cards were developed by Alphacool, a renowned manufacturer of liquid cooling systems. However, the question remains open about how effectively such a solution will handle cooling the RTX 5090, which consumes 500 to 600 watts of power.

This development opens new possibilities for creating compact yet powerful systems, particularly important for professional applications where every centimeter of space in the case matters.
